Newborn Care Guide for First-Time Parents

Caring for a newborn can feel overwhelming, especially for first-time parents. Understanding basic newborn care can help ensure your baby stays healthy and comfortable during the first few months.

Feeding Your Baby

Newborns usually feed every 2–3 hours. Breastfeeding is highly recommended as it provides essential nutrients and strengthens the baby's immune system.

Sleep Routine

Newborns sleep about 14–17 hours a day. Always place babies on their back to sleep to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Hygiene and Bathing

Until the umbilical cord stump falls off, sponge baths are recommended. Make sure the baby is kept warm and dry after bathing.

Regular Pediatric Checkups

Routine visits with a pediatrician help track growth, weight gain, and developmental milestones while ensuring vaccinations are up to date.
